The American Cable Association (ACA) today announced that U.S. Representative Mike Doyle (D-PA) will deliver the keynote congressional speech at ACA's 15th Annual Washington Summit in Washington, D.C. April 7-9, 2008. Congressman Doyle is currently serving his seventh term in the U.S. House of Representatives; he is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and is the Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet, which has jurisdiction over all communications, media and technology issues.
"We are very honored to have Congressman Doyle address our members," said Matthew M.
Polka, ACA president and chief executive officer. "We greatly appreciate his ongoing efforts to
develop national telecommunications policies that are sensitive to the concerns of America's
small businesses, so many of them represented within our ACA membership."
Congressman Doyle will deliver his speech to ACA members Tuesday, April 9, at the Westin
City Center, headquarter location for the ACA Summit.
ACA's Summit provides an opportunity for ACA member companies to tell Congress and the
FCC about the critical issues and concerns facing independent cable providers and their
customers. At the Summit, ACA will also celebrate 15 years of representing independent cable
operators throughout America.
"ACA's 15th Annual Summit will unite our membership in Washington, D.C., to share the very
real stories of independent, smaller and rural cable providers across the U.S. with policymakers
and industry leaders," Polka said. "As the ACA tirelessly fights for the needs of its members,
consumers and communities, our event will facilitate meetings with elected officials, provide
insight from compelling keynote speakers, and offer innovative programming and business
solutions from their industry partners."
