HOW TO ENTER: The Share Your Cable Story Contest, sponsored by the American Cable Association ("ACA") begins on February 24, 2009. The Entry/Submission Period ends on April 10, 2009. To enter, go to http://americancable.org/node/938.
ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open only to any employee of an ACA operator member.
WINNER SELECTION: The judging panel, selected by ACA in its sole discretion, will determine the winner based on the following criteria, weighted equally: (i) Does the story address a topical and common legislative or regulatory issue faced by ACA members (e.g. retransmission consent, must carry, exclusivity rules, broadband deployment, wholesale bunding, tiering obligations, pole attachments, regulatory filings and fees, etc.)? (ii) Does the story individualize and personalize the issue? (iii) Would the story help a lawmaker or policymaker understand why action is needed to be done or not done on the issue? (iv) Is the story ready for publication? The winner of the contest will be notified on or about March 23, 2009.
PRIZE: One (1) Share Your Cable Story Contest winner will receive an all expense paid trip to the 2009 ACA Summit in Washington, DC on April 26-29 which includes roundtrip airfare, lodging at the Gaylord National Resort, and registration at the ACA Summit which includes the event's dinner on April 27, breakfast and lunch on April 28, and breakfast and dinner on April 29. Prize consists only of items expressly specified in these Official rules.
GRANT OF RIGHTS: By submitting a story, the entrant transfers and assigns all rights, ownership and interest in their submitted story to ACA, and grants ACA permission to publish the story in future editions of the ACAction Brief, the ACA website, and other ACA publications.
